Kids Finance Circle

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

Kids Finance Circle ("we", "us", "the platform") is an educational website that teaches financial literacy and time-management skills to young people between 7 and 17 years old, through interactive stories, decisions, and quizzes.

We built this platform to be as simple and low-data as possible, because most of our users are children. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and what rights you and your child have over it.

If you are a parent or guardian, please read the "Children's Privacy" section below carefully — it explains the extra protections we apply to accounts used by minors.

1. Who is responsible for this platform

Kids Finance Circle is an independent educational project created and operated by Bastian Huamán García. You can reach us any time at the contact email listed at the bottom of this page.

2. Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to save your progress and let you come back to it. We do not ask for a real name, address, phone number, school, or any financial account information.

  • Account email address — used only to sign in and to identify your account. You may create an account with an email and password, or with Google Sign-In (in which case Google shares your email and basic profile info with us, per Google's own terms).
  • In-app progress — which chapters you have completed, the choices you made inside each story, your stars/accuracy rating, and simulated in-game values (money, energy, mood) used only to show your results on screen.
  • Feedback you choose to submit — if you fill out our optional feedback form (hosted on Google Forms), your responses are collected there and are also subject to Google's own privacy policy.
  • Partnership requests — if an organization submits our partnership contact form, we collect the name, email, and message provided, only to respond to that request.
  • Basic technical data automatically generated by our hosting provider (Vercel) to keep the site running securely, such as request logs. We do not use this data for advertising or profiling.

3. How we use this information

We do not sell your data, we do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not show targeted ads to any user, adult or child.

  • To create and secure your account, and let you sign in from any device.
  • To save and restore your progress through the chapters and seasons.
  • To respond to feedback, questions, or partnership requests you send us.
  • To keep the platform safe, for example by identifying accounts that misuse the service.
  • To count, in aggregate, how many accounts exist and how many chapters are completed, so we can improve the platform. We do not use this for advertising.

4. Children's Privacy — parents and guardians, please read this

Kids Finance Circle is designed for users between 7 and 17 years old. We take children's privacy seriously and try to collect the least amount of information possible.

If your child is below the age at which their country allows a minor to independently agree to an online privacy policy (for example, under 13 in the United States under COPPA, or a similar age set by local law elsewhere), a parent or legal guardian must create or approve the account and agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use on the child's behalf before the child uses the platform.

We do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than the account email and in-app progress described above. We never use a child's information for targeted advertising, and we never sell it to third parties.

As a parent or guardian, you can contact us at any time to review the information linked to your child's account, correct it, or request that it be permanently deleted. We will act on these requests as quickly as we reasonably can.

If you believe a child has created an account without appropriate parental consent, please contact us so we can review and, if needed, remove the account.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your information. We only share it with the service providers that make the platform work, listed below. Each of them processes data on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments:

  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles account sign-in. Your email, password (encrypted), and progress data are stored on Supabase's infrastructure, protected by access rules that ensure only your own account can read your own data.
  • Vercel — hosts the website itself.
  • Google — provides the optional "Sign in with Google" feature, and hosts our optional feedback form (Google Forms). If you use either of these, Google processes the related data under its own privacy policy.

6. Where your data is stored

Our service providers operate global infrastructure, which means your data may be processed or stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the platform, you (or your parent/guardian, if you are a minor) consent to this transfer, which is necessary for the service to function.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your account and progress information for as long as your account remains active.

Account deletion: you (or your parent/guardian) can ask us to delete your account at any time, by using the "Request account deletion" link on your profile page or by writing to the contact email below. We will reply within 24 to 48 hours to confirm that we received your request and, if needed, to check that it really comes from you or your parent/guardian. After that, we will delete your account, your email and your progress from our active systems within 7 days at the most, except where we are required to keep limited records by law.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask us what information we hold about you or your child.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your account and associated data. We reply within 24 to 48 hours and complete the deletion within 7 days (see section 7).
  • Withdraw consent previously given (for example, a parent withdrawing consent for a child's account), which will result in the account being deactivated.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, if you believe we have not handled your information properly.

9. Cookies and tracking

We do not use cookies to track you. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any tool that follows users from page to page or from one website to another.

Why? Because we do not need that information to teach. Our users are children and teenagers, so we choose to collect as little data as possible, and following what young people do online is not part of our mission.

The only things saved in your browser are technical and necessary for the platform to work: a login session so you stay signed in, and your language choice (English or Spanish). These are not used to track you and are not shared with advertisers.

If one day we decide to measure how many people visit the site, we will use a tool that works without cookies, and we will update this policy and tell you before we do it.

10. Security

We rely on our providers' industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and database access rules (Row Level Security) that ensure each account can only ever access its own data. No system is ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform grows. If we make a material change — especially one that affects how we handle children's data — we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, make an effort to notify registered users.

12. Contact us
